Verdict

A small but select field goes to post for this handicap chase and Virgin Soldier and Tregastel have both got chances, but we will take a chance on Divet Hill. The selection is a bold jumping frontrunner who will bounce off the ground and those tactics could well put Virgin Soldier off his stride. Virgin Soldier will appreciate this step up in trip after a disappointing performance over an inadequate trip at Wetherby on Wednesday. However, his jumping could let him down if Divet Hill forces the pace and takes him on for the lead, and for that reason he is opposed. Tregastel hails from a shrewd yard and is an import from France so has to respected if he is supported in the market, but we are happy to side with Divet Hill.
