In depth

Verdict

DARK LOVER, who has two victories over hurdles at Cheltenham to his credit, reappeared after almost two years off to land a similar race at Taunton last month. The form looks strong with the second going on to keep a well-regarded individual up to his work at Warwick and the third winning at Wincanton next time; he should follow up. Lord Heathfield has been going great guns for Christy Mews since transferring from Ireland and looks a threat while Doubledisdoubledat makes his debut in this sphere but had looked a nice prospect when completing a double over fences in 2014 for the same connections. Soleil D'avril landed a novice hunter chase at Catterick in April and jumped round Aintree in the Fox Hunters' on his only subsequent start and could get into the action.
