In depth

Verdict

The veteran Dartford Warbler was winning for the eighth time when scoring over an extended 3m2f at Sedgefield last week and arrives with a 7lb penalty, though he's won from higher marks in the past. Thomas Todd looked a nice prospect when making a successful chasing debut at Musselburgh but made too many mistakes on his latest start at Doncaster. Newbury New was in fine form at this time a year ago and is back on his last winning mark while FOLLOW THE SWALLOW would have won at Taunton in November but for falling at the last. The latter then just failed to concede 16lb to Mistress Massini at Ludlow and will take some beating. Fifty Shades would have an obvious chance on his narrow defeat in a better race at Cheltenham in October but he's been well beaten subsequently while Royals And Rebels' better run last time came in lower grade.
