L'Oudon should take all the beating ahead of Lunar Crystal, Beechwood and Darn Him. It is a bit surprising to see L'Oudon dropped to this level, as he was asked to tackle decent company over timber before making his chase debut at Taunton in January. The Paul Nicholls-trained six-year-old was stopped in his tracks by a blunder at the seventh fence that day, and had no chance afterwards, trailing home a well beaten third of eight. Given a break since, connections will fancy their chances of him gaining a confidence-boosting win. Lunar Crystal appears to be the main danger, given that he ran a respectable seventh in the Imperial Cup the other week. Like the selection, he took on good company over timber, and has performed quite well over fences as well. Beechwood's third in a Newton Abbot seller does not look good enough, while Darn Him makes his debut over hurdles after a couple of bumper outings. The market may throw up a springer of course, but we are happy to side with L'Oudon.
