Verdict

Willie Mullins won this last year with the four-year-old Flat Out and will be hoping to repeat the process with Laganbank, who had pulled too hard when disappointing at Punchestown in April but settled much better and gained a convincing success at Killarney in July. He looks certain to make further progress but it's the other youngster in the line-up, ROSS BAY, who gets the vote. Christy Roche' filly followed a promising debut at Sligo with a very impressive success over subsequent winner Avida Star on the same track and can go on to better things. Bullock Harbour hasn't quite gone on from his victory over a huge field at Punchestown in May but Shannon Spirit looked a real prospect when making a winning start at Thurles in January before disappointing in Cheltenham's Festival Bumper.
