WISE OLD OWL has been very unfortunate to finish runner-up on his last three starts in this sphere as each of the winners has come out and won again on their subsequent starts. This will be the first time he races on ground with some ease and he can finally get off the mark. Carpenter may have made a winning start over fences back in 2008 but for falling. He has only run twice subsequently and may just need this after an absence since May. Double Kudos only has one pace but he jumps well and stays the trip so he can get involved at the business end here. Winning point-to-pointer Mister Two Fifty showed his best form to date over regulation fences when runner-up to Frankie Anson at Cartmel while there is certain to be support for the once very promising hurdler Uncle Junior despite an absence of over two years.
