Verdict

Rosedale Topping revealed notable improvement when scoring at Yarmouth this month and has an obvious chance if she has turned a corner having shown little previously. However, connections have warned she will only run if the ground softens and it's probably best to look elsewhere. Balgowlah is one to note in the market on his handicap bow for a shrewd yard but the choice falls upon the more exposed BELOVED KNIGHT. He has the virtue of consistency on his side based on this year's efforts, and his run behind Gas Monkey at Kempton represents fair form in this grade. He was beaten by The Night King back in January but can turn the form around on better terms here. The latter, however, has continued to run pretty well since that success and is certainly one for the shortlist, along with Spring Praise who has more to offer.
