BIRD FOR LIFE was unable to get competitive when returned to Turf last time after a series of competitive efforts on the all-weather at Kempton. He remains extremely lightly-raced on the surface - just three starts - but has every chance here if able to translate the best of his form on artificial surfaces. He's far from guaranteed to do so but is given another chance here as his form claims are considerable. Affair has yet to come to the boil this term but at her best the course and distance winner would have every chance off this mark with Theodore Ladd taking off a further 7lb too. The booking of the champion for What A Party naturally takes the eye and Gaye Kellaway's charge is suggested as next best in an open contest.
