TENZING NORWAY won a maiden on the Turf course here last week by five lengths. It’s likely Sir Mark Prescott’s charge will be raised by more than the 6lb extra he carries today and he can go in again. Kelvin Hall also won a maiden race when scoring at Wolverhampton in April but was well beaten on her handicap debut last time and Gabster has shown her best form over shorter trips so far. Hongkong Adventure made a promising start when third over track and trip in March but has run poorly in both subsequent starts.
Kelvin Hall 8-1 (9-7) Raced wide, held up in touch, ridden over 2f out, weakened over 1f out, 8th of 9, 14 1/2l behind Blakeney Point (9-6) at Leicester 1m 4f hcp (5) gd in May.
Hongkong Adventure 14-1 (8-9) Tracked leaders, ridden and weakened 3f out, 6th of 9, 25 1/4l behind Goldmember (8-9) at Thirsk 1m 4f mdn stks (5) gf in May.
Tenzing Norgay 15-8 (8-11) Close up, headway to lead over 2f out, clear over 1f out, eased final furlong, won at Lingfield 1m 3f mdn stks (6) gd in May beating Swashbuckle (8-11) by 5l, 7 ran.
Gabster (IRE) 16-1 (9-7) Held up in mid-division, ridden over 3f out, weakened over 2f out, 7th of 11, 19 3/4l behind Regal Monarch (9-7) at Chepstow 1m 4f hcp (6) sft in May.
