    Verdict

Overlord Way has more to do first time in a handicap than when landing a Wolverhampton maiden last time and preference is for Dig Deep, who gets the vote ahead of Hayyani. The last mentioned belied market odds of 25/1 when landing a Newbury handicap last time and has solid claims on that evidence although an 8lb higher mark does make life tougher. Resplendent Nova deserved his course and distance success here last month but this looks tougher, while Bird Over has slipped back to a fair mark and returns to seven furlongs today so may improve on recent form. Pamir has become frustrating but is capable and comes from the Luca Cumani stable that is in good form at present although a bigger threat is likely to come from Fantaisiste. Paul Cole's filly is proving difficult to win with but her form ties in with both Resplendent Nova and Dig Deep so she has to be respected. Preference though is for Dig Deep, who remains unexposed and comes here having made a winning handicap debut at Newbury following two decent efforts on the Polytrack. With more improvement to come, the William Haggas-trained gelding is taken to complete a hat trick.
