With no fewer than 18 runners to choose from this does not look to be the easiest of nurseries to solve and what can only be a tentative vote goes to Zabeel Tower, who is preferred to High Octave and Manouche. The last mentioned disappointed at Warwick last time but holds solid claims on earlier form at Newmarket although John Dunlop's gelding may do better over further. Night Cru is one of several runners in the race making their debut in a nursery and could be well enough treated judged by maiden form with Expensive Problem. Black As Soot would need to improve but has a decent racing weight for his first start in this grade, while Daggernought showed promise at Salisbury last time. Mark Usher's Golden Alchemist is due to go up 3lbs in future handicaps following an improved display at Newmarket last week and has to be considered although a bigger threat is likely to come from High Octave, who was doing all off his best work close home over six furlongs at Folkestone last time and should appreciate today's longer trip. A 5lb rise since then leaves Brendan Powell's gelding with more to do and preference is for Zabeel Tower, who ran right up to his best at Redcar last time and has an obvious chance off the same mark today.
