        Verdict

        This looks a cracking contest for the time of year. Hector Loza is the only one with winning form on the track but was found wanting when upped in class on Turf last year. Kondratiev Wave has won at Kempton this year and Amarillo Star finished well ahead of the disappointing Oh Purple Reign over 6f at Newcastle 10 days ago. Sun Power was behind the latter in a Group 3 at Kempton last season and also the filly Melodic Charm, who didn’t have much luck in-running, but Silvestre De Sousa gets the leg-up today so better is expected. Raaeb sports the Godolphin colours but MALOTRU can take advantage of this drop in grade to regain the winning thread. A Group 3 winner in Italy, he wasn’t disgraced in either the Gimcrack or the Mill Reef later and still has time on his side.
