SMOKEY RYE is just about the pick at these weights and is taken to make the most of the weight that she receives from the likes of Bridge Of Fermoy and Northern Desert. The in-form Gary Moore is always a trainer to fear at this track and Smokey Rye has finished in the money on four of her five visits here. That record doesn't include a victory but success is overdue and she has been found a decent opportunity. Bridge Of Fermoy enjoyed a decent run of form in this grade before finding life a little harder in handicaps and should relish the drop in class. He is another with plenty of track form and should give a good account. Northern Desert has been off the track for a little while but has fairly solid credentials and his yard is capable of having the veteran ready to rumble. He's one to fear if the market gives out the right vibes but Smokey Rye gets the nod.
