The fact that this is the second maiden that has been divided underlines how much competition there is to get a run at this time of the season, but it will be surprising if Daniel Thomas cannot cope with the challenges of the likes of Dart Along and Fen Game today. That is not to completely dismiss the claims of Expeditious, who is an expensive purchase that is sure to be seen to better effect as a three-year-old. The fitting of blinkers and for the first time does sound a few alarm bells though and, as he also has plenty to find with Dart Along on Newmarket form, he may be just one of a handful to just watch today. The last mentioned has shown plenty of speed in his starts so far and is likely to ensure that this is a good test for them all. However, it may simply be the case that Daniel Thomas has just come up against a handful of high-class rivals so far and, as he is currently on a rating of 95, it is safe to assume that his connections will be more than a tad frustrated if the cannot get off the mark in this company.
