The Fonze has impressed with his attitude since he arrived from Ireland and gets the nomination in the finale, while Ground Patrol and Glendale are others to bear in mind. Glendale went close over 1m 4f last time and is respected on that effort. The drop to a mile and a quarter will suit and he can be expected to go close if he is in the right frame of mind. Ground Patrol has found his racing shoes of late and comes here in good heart. He is creeping up the weights though and has bit to prove from top weight. Magic Warrior is also in with a shout if the 7lb rise for his win a Leicester does not take an edge off him. However, The Fonze looks to be a step ahead at this stage and he is fancied to take all the beating in his bid to pay for the travelling expenses over from County Kilkenny in Ireland.
