BALATA, Bilberry and Jake the Snake catch the eye here, and Balata is taken to go one better than a good second place effort recently. Twice a winner over this trip on the all-weather, Jake the Snake has to defy top weight here, and although a disappointment in a claimer last time, his earlier form commands respect and he looks sure to run his race and be thereabouts. It is a surprise to see Billberry dropped in trip after staying on to good effect over a mile last time. He was made favourite that day, and a dual winner last season, including a course and distance scorer, he is respected. Balata returned after a four month absence to run a sound race in defeat recently, and given normal improvement this dual all-weather winner can take this lucrative prize for a race of its type.
