Verdict

A line can quickly be put through around half the field but the remainder are all interesting contenders for today and the future. A chance is taken with MUTASAREB on debut with Joseph Lister and Sir Walter Raleigh amongst the leading contenders. The Cecil team is on fire just now but Out Of Eden has a lower official rating than Kansai Spirit and Ultravox whilst Sea Change will need to improve considerably from his debut in a traditionally decent Newmarket maiden at the July meeting with Voysey also needing to leave his debut run behind. Joseph Lister did just that when making the frame behind Very Good Day at Haydock and that form looks strong with the second and fourth both successful since and probably makes him the one to beat. Sir Walter Raleigh was made favourite on debut but disappointed and was subsequently gelded; he showed ability on his return but may not be straightforward and the yard is not sparkling at present. Saeed Bin Suroor has been struggling but he's saddled three winners in the past fortnight and, historically, does very well here so it may be worth giving the well bred Mutasareb the chance to make a winning debut.
