MAKENA runs under penalty at the top of the weights but the style in which she won last time out leads us to believe she can see off the competition which may come in the form of Immense and Thehonourablelady. Le Forezien has place claims if putting in a better run after being brought down last time out. He has won at the course before but not for more than four years. Thehonourablelady has won more recently here back in October, but she has not been victorious since then. She has shown the best of her ability over shorter trips than today and although she tends to jump well enough she is best watched today. Immense didn't impress when last seen over course and distance last month. On that basis we avoid him today. Makena was a very impressive winner last time out and is our pick. She beat Treasury Counsel at Southwell latest and has a decent enough record in France to suggest this was no fluke and we side with her today.
