The old adage about watching the market applies and in the absence of it, TALLEY CLOSE is nominated with Top Care and Baby Driver among the alternatives. There was a little bit of money around on debut and while that debut has to go down as a disappointment; there is enough early pace there to suggest a good run at Catterick could obtain. Top Care was a beaten favourite at Carlisle on debut. The trainer is having a wretched time with his juveniles so a reluctant case of opposition might be the call. Howard Johnson's team have started to pick up some prizes of late and while Baby Driver was no match for the 1-7 favourite at Hamilton last month but having started slowly, he finished with promise. Carver County does not look to be one of John Fretwell's better purchases at the sales. If his breeding is to be believed, Malgoof might come into his own with a bit more give underfoot. Talley Close is the suggestion in a race where the betting should offer the most informed appraisal of the likely chances.
