The unexposed Chimali is given the benefit of the doubt against old campaigners such as Cormorant Wharf and Double M, whose improving days are now probably behind them but are still capable at this level. So too is Woodbury, who was close up behind Double M last time and does not much to find to reverse the form. Torquemada is another for the shortlist as he has a couple of good efforts over course and distance to his name and he could be dangerous to dismiss if he is in the same frame of mind that he was in when finishing third here last month. Eccentric, who races earlier on the card, will give a good indication to the strength of that form and it will not be surprising to see William Jarvis' charge supported accordingly if the portents look good. However, Chimali has proved to be versatile regarding his best ground and, assuming that he takes to this surface, the son of Foxhound could be very well treated off just 67 for only his second start in a handicap up to date.
