Verdict

Some interesting runners in this bunch and BLUES MUSIC is our idea of the most likely winner with Lingfield Bound and Capponi entering the shortlist. The Indian Ridge colt has looked in need of his two racecourse starts thus far but his latest effort exhibited some promise despite a slow break. A half-brother to Pax Soprana, the mile really shouldn't be an issue. Lingfield Bound would be an aptly named winner. He was guilty only of coming up against an above average recruit last time and was some way clear of the remainder. Mark Johnston will alas have a handle on that form and he is the trainer of Capponi. The pedigree has him as a positive as he is closely related to that very smart miler of the past, No Excuse Needed. Peter Chapple-Hyam had a winner earlier in the week and he is represented by Streets Of War. The colt was easy to back on debut at Newbury on his sole juvenile start but remains with his colt status in tact as we head into a new season. The Wonga Coup was a cheap purchase though has a very decent American pedigree. Any money at longer odds would be interesting. Blues Music is not without a few concerns though in a race that should throw up a few future winners, he has enough positives to make him the call.
