The veterans of the party appear to possess the most solid credentials coming into this and PERUVIAN PRINCE, Richard Fahey's sole runner at the meeting, can land it with Lucayon Dancer and Blacktoft looking the biggest threats. Although Peruvian Prince has failed to score since June of last season, his efforts have nonetheless been respectable and it looks as though he needs respite from the handicapper before he can get back in the winning grove in that grade. Out-classed last time, the drop into this grade should see him go very close. Lucayon Dancer, a winner of three of his last four starts in this grade, has been raced lightly given his profile and the usual stance which his trainer takes with horses of this ilk. He has only raced three times on the all-weather throughout his career, one of those resulting in a victory and he can be taken to give his running here once again. Blacktoft is another who was seen to take advantage of the drop in class last time and over a trip that was probably on the sharp side for him. Connections tend to vary their tactics with him which looks to keep him sweet but he is not one that you can entirely trust. One More Round continues to hold his form well despite his advancing years but this is a major step into unknown territory with regard to the trip and he has done nothing to suggest that it will suit him. Ogre has gradually edged back up the ratings as a result of a sequence of victories in this grade during the summer months but failed when reverted to handicap company last time. Back into claiming company should see him competitive but Peruvian Prince is selected to land it.
