    Verdict

The Richard Hannon-trained Oro Verde has a solid chance at the weights and is just preferred over the lesser exposed duo of Doohulla and Khabfair, who are obviously respected as live dangers. Of the remainder, Trotters Bottom, Princess Kai and Kafuwain are exposed and as such passed over, whereas Pertadias Magic has a little to prove over this trip and is probably best watched. This leaves us with just three to concentrate on and with Khabfair likely to go off at cramped odds if he is expected to build on his course and distance maiden win, the value could be found elsewhere. Oro Verde's earlier form has received solid boosts in recent weeks although it would be dangerous to read too much into his defeat of Majestic Missile at Windsor as that rival has improved greatly since. That said, Oro Verde has done little wrong in events that have seen his chances compromised by his penalty in Novices' stakes of late and he is taken to gain some compensation for a series of solid efforts if things go his way today.
