In depth

Verdict

In a wide-open race, we will go for a bigger-priced horse and select Ocean Rock ahead of Barton Sands and Twentytwosilver. Starting at the top and Ardea Brave's first run at this trip last time was fair and, with a little less use made of her today, could go well. Barton Sands best 10-furlong form brings him into things. Celtique also has form enough to go well, while Thebestisyettocome holds claims on the best of his form, and he could have some improvement left in him at this trip. Damburger Xpress is another that could improve for the longer trip, and a good run from Zoripp can't be ruled out, although his best efforts have come at Wolverhampton. It would be no surprise to see Ocean Rock go well as he wins in his turn, and Twentytwosilver still seems reasonably treated based on his recent good heart, which includes a win on the all-weather and over fences. Elvina Hills steps up in trip and is tried in cheekpieces, so gets a mention on that basis, while Trials 'N Tribs has become a little disappointing and Good Article is another that might improve for the longer trip today, and the lightly-raced Montage could also contain some improvement from his fair handicap debut last time. Overall, though, we will stick with Ocean Rock.
