Verdict

The shortlist contains Candyland, Astronomic View and My Lovely Lesley, with the vote going to Candyland. Much as Candyland finished last of six on his Newbury debut, he was not beaten far. With his stablemate Yerevan already having won from the race, normal improvement from that racecourse bow can see him in the thick of things today. Astronomic View and Danseuse are interesting newcomers, while Disco Dan showed promise on his Chepstow debut and Stoneacre Gareth could be one to look at in the betting. Finally, Bodes Galaxy cost 205,000 euros but will need to have improved from his Brighton debut in order to feature here and Brian Meehan's My Lovely Lesley showed some debut promise and has to be given some consideration. Overall, though, the vote stays with Candyland.
