The shortlist contains Lucky Lucioni, Postage and Watching, with the vote going to Lucky Lucioni. Lucky Lucioni showed enough in his Irish runs last season to suggest that he should be a major player if retaining anywhere near that level of ability. Dropped to this grade, Postage has to be considered, while Tiptoeing's best previous run in a light career came over course and distance. Resplendent Prince comes here on the back of a Southwell selling win but, as a course and distance winner, can be considered in this low-grade affair. He does, however, have a bit to find on ratings with Watching, who was rated 113 when winning in Listed company for Richard Hannon in 2000 and is now with Richard Fahey. He's been lightly raced of late and been well beaten in his last two runs, but he now drops to selling grade. Finally, John Hills drops the lightly raced Apres Ski down to this grade for the first time so might go well but, for the selection, we will stick with Lucky Lucioni.
