      Verdict

      SHEILA'S BOND can strike with Explorator and Little Meadow sought as possible alternatives. The daughter of Monsieur Bond did not disgrace herself on her first turf outing at Bath and did enough to suggest that a small race was within her compass. The form of her fourth to Captain John Nixon on the polytrack at Lingfield reads particularly well and were there an ability to translate the form to grass, she would hold very solid claims. Explorator carries an additional 6lb for a recent victory at the course. Backed from 5/2 into 11/8; it was clearly not unexpected. Little Meadow has shown glimmers of ability on Southwell's fibresand. The saddle slipped last time out so that run can be safely ignored. Shianda was disappointing on handicap debut whilst New Code ran his best race to date when fourth at Chester. Sheila's Bond makes most appeal at the likely odds of reward.
