A very tricky affair in which CALDERMUD is narrowly preferred to Lutine Bell and Dream Number. The draw has hardly been kind this afternoon but John Best's charge has shown enough capability to take a handy position as they reach the first turn. His second on turf to R Woody at Goodwood looks smart form and the handicap mark of 75 seems fair. Lutine Bell won a maiden in first time blinkers last week and as is typical for an improving Sir Mark Prescott horse, holds entries for a couple of races later in the week. Dream Number ran much better than the bare form suggests at Leicester and is attractively handicapped at present. Maoi Chinn Tire is usually consistent though put up a rare modest run at Kempton last time out. Faithful Duchess performed with credit at Wolverhampton. A noted back runner, this filly should find things much more to her liking at Lingfield. Excellent Thought had become very frustrating with William Haggas and made no show on a debut for Paul Howling. Craicattack has been a regular of late in claimers but Ryan Moore's booking this afternoon on a return to handicaps is noteworthy. Much interest will concern the progressive Lutine Bell but at the prices, we are prepared to take a chance about Caldermud.
