      Verdict

Five time course winner King After is selected to land the finale for the John Best yard. King After was certainly not spared by connections throughout the winter months, racing no less than eleven times between November and January. Returning here after 129 days off the track, if fitness can be taken trust he can go very close. Upstairs looks a big danger to King After. Making his handicap debut last time, he travelled very well at his first attempt at a mile. He emptied inside the final furlong but it was an encouraging effort and in a weak event he is a contender as is April Fool who drops back to eight furlongs here. Support for Copper King would be noteworthy hailing from the shrewd yard of Tor Sturgis but in an open finale King After is taken to make a winning return to action.
