bumped start, soon led on rail, headed over 2f out, soon weakened
chased leaders, chased winner 2f out, one pace and held inside final furlong
went left start, tracked leader, led over 2f out, driven and in command final furlong
held up, effort on outside 2f out, soon outpaced by leading pair
A disappointing entry but difficult to get away from The Old Fella on all known evidence. Fifth to Hamoody at Newmarket last month, that runner has gone on to advertise the form with victory in the Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and on all known formbook evidence, there does not look to be that caliber of opposition. Gold Spirit has had plenty of chances over five furlongs. He shapes as if a step up to six might suit and he is accordingly noted in the betting. Mind The Style ran poorly at Chester on his most recent start and is perhaps best watched. Prince Of Charm has shown little in recent outings and looks hard to make a case for. The Old Fella has an obvious opportunity on Sunday and we shall seek not to oppose.
