True Companion is fancied to recoup recent losses at the expense of Lyrical Way and Ryan's Future in the opening event on the Polytrack. True Companion finally opened his account in an apprentice race at Newbury in October after filling the frame on many occasions in the past. Since then he has run twice, most recently over today's course and distance when a close third to Quantum Leap. That was off a slightly lower mark than for his Newbury success, and he must go close here on the bare form. Lyrical Way defied a break when opening his account at Salisbury in August, and has been knocking at the door since. He only found the hot favourite Compton Drake too good here a fortnight ago and is set for another good run, although this is a grade higher contest. Ryan's Future scraped home in a weak affair at Nottingham before acquitting himself quite well on his Polytrack debut 11 days ago. There may be more to come, but we prefer to stick with True Companion.
