A tight betting heat despite the small turn out and narrow preference is for Bathwick Bill ahead of Fission, Kuringai and Innstyle. Rod Millman's charge confirmed the promise of previous outings when staying on strongly to land a Bath maiden over the minimum trip last time and doesn't look harshly treated for his handicap debut particularly as the step up to six furlongs should bring further improvement. Fission hails from an in-form yard and stepped up on earlier efforts when fitted with first-time blinkers to lift an all-weather maiden at Southwell in comfortable style. However, this represents a marked step up in grade and he faces no easy task under top weight. Kuringai is a consistent sort and gained a deserved success at Brighton last time but is more exposed than most and may prove vulnerable. Innstyle remains a maiden but Brian Meehan's charge may be capable of better on his handicap debut so can't be discounted in an interesting contest.
