        Verdict

        Shifty, Galey River and Zeloso have all gone close in this company recently and may fight out the finish here, with the first named given the vote. This five-year-old battled all the way to the line at Wolverhampton last time when going down by a short margin to Cumbrian Princess. That was over nine furlongs and this is only the second time he has attempted this trip. On the previous occasion back in January he was well beaten behind Sendintank. However he did run off a mark of 54 and had numerous winners behind him, so in this much weaker contest he must hold very strong claims. Galey River has put in two promising displays recently here, and at Wolverhampton and could again be set for place money. Zeloso chased home Music Mix in a better race than this back in August and should come on for his recent spin at Wolverhampton. Melograno and True To Yourself are both recent winners and may also figure in the finish, but Shifty deserves another victory and is given the nod.
