Verdict

In the maiden claimer we will side with Grand Welcome over Zolash, Azuree, Lady Luisa and, possibly, Grezie. Grand Welcome comes firmly into the reckoning based on his Newcastle maiden second in September, although the blinkers that he had worn when running well there and for the first time the time before, have not been seen to such good effect on his last two runs. In a weak event, he has to be considered. Art Legend hails from a good stable and is fairly well-related but has not shown too much thus far, including in a course and distance seller, while Blue Spectrum races in first-time cheekpieces but has shown little in the way of form. Llamadas has bits of form, but at shorter trips, but Zolash, who has form enough to go well here but lacks higher gears, has to be considered with first-time headgear on. Azuree is another of the more likely types. Much as her pedigree has lots of speed in it, the best of her form at shorter distances puts her well into the argument here and a good run is expected. Grezie has shown some promise and, relatively unexposed, could improve and Lady Luisa showed improved form in first-time cheekpieces to beat all bar Sonntag Blue at Wolverhampton on Monday and, if Monday's exertions have not taken too much out of her, she has to be considered. However, if he can get back to his Newcastle form, Grand Welcome holds solid claims and, accordingly, gets the vote.
