keen hold, tracked winner until outpaced final 3f
tracked leaders, ready to chase winner 3f out, hard ridden 2f out, no impression and lost 2nd inside final furlong
chased leaders, pushed along 6f out, stayed on under pressure to take 2nd inside final furlong, no chance with winner
A poor turnout for this bumper with just four runners, however it is hard to pick the winner, so Young Gary is the tentative choice, ahead of Bebedash and Grandpops Joy. The main reasons for making this selection is that the other three runners have shown very little so far and he is nicely bred. He is by Silver Patriach out of a winning hurdler and will not have to be a world beater to win this. Bebedash couldn't keep a straight course last time and is fitted with cheek pieces today, she could be the pick of the two Burke runners as Grandpops Joy was last on his debut. Ashford Common Lad who dropped away tamely on his Plumpton debut completes the line up and so as you can see there isn't much to go on and so a chance is taken with the debutante Young Gary.
