A minefield for punters and DIAMOND JOHNNY G represents our stab in the dark though don't be surprised to see interest in Maashooq and Mrs Boss. John Best has two in this race but with a sixth in the Norfolk Stakes already on the board, it's a fair bet that this colt is the pick of the pair. Maashooq and Rose Aurora represent the yard of Marcus Tregoning. The former was a 25/1 shot on debut at Kempton but ran much too green to do himself justice and its worth a chance that he can leave behind that effort. Mrs Boss has been something of a bookmakers benefit in recent months but she hasn't been beaten far by decent opposition and with the yard finally sending out winners, it would be disappointing were she not in the shake up. Rum King was big odds for a Newmarket maiden though ran accordingly. However, Young Simon was 100-1 for his second career start at Yarmouth but while he never threatened to win the affair, there was no fluke about his second place. Quaestor has plenty of early pace though he was soon snuffed out by Dick Turpin in the big sales race at Fairyhouse. The going was pretty testing on that occasion and he may be better suited by conditions as they are this afternoon. Diamond Johnny G certainly brings some of the better form to the table and we will support him in the hope that he will be able to demonstrate it against this lesser grade of opposition.
