Races of this nature can be as unpredictable as a five-furlong dash and to say that some of these are a little quirky may be just a polite understatement. However, a few of these have held their form well of late and this should prove to be a competitive contest. Kent can usually be relied upon to run his race and will not fail for the want of trying. But he has been off the track for 71 days and may just find the trip on the sharp side for him. Caesarean Hunter was a surprise winner at Wolverhampton last month but was far from disgraced in a follow up attempt a couple of weeks later. In contrast, the step up in trip may just find him out again today. Mandoob has held his form well though and is a live danger to all. But preference is for Haafel, who has been revitalised for the fitting of blinkers and can extend his run of good form here. Bold Ewar is another to consider but he may just be tapped for toe in the closing stages.
