Verdict

CHACHAMAIDEE, First Term and Hasty catch the eye here, with Chachamaidee taken to make a winning debut. Only one or two of the field have racecourse experience, but Hasty took part in a hot York maiden, and was not disgraced in fifth behind a very well backed debutant. Although the third has been a beaten favourite since, Barry Hills has had a couple of winners in the last week, and has a very good strike rate with his juveniles. First Term represents the in-form Richard Hannon camp, and although breeding on the dam's side suggests a stayer, by the classy sprinting sire Acclamation, she should have plenty of speed. Henry Cecil commands respect from his debutants, particularly the fillies, and he introduces Chachamaidee, a daughter of Footstepsinthesand. Half-sister to a multiple two-year-old winner, and out of a dam who is a sister to a classy juvenile winner, Chachamaidee can become Cecil's first juvenile winner of the campaign.
