Hard to rule out any here but from a shortlist of SILVER GUEST, Rondeau and Shaded Edge it is the first-named who is preferred. Mick Channon's gelding may not be the best-handicapped horse in the race however the course winner knows his way round the track and has plenty in his favour today. A good draw and a likely strong pace will suit and he should run well. Seek The Fair Land is edging down to a nice mark, I Confess is consistent but hasn't won in his last 14 starts, whilst Trading Nation needs to prove that he is better than a final start in June when flopping at Newbury. Richard Hughes looks an interesting jockey booking for Kempton specialist Defector, Rondeau looks high enough in the weights at the moment but is consistent at this level, whilst similar comments apply to Shaded Edge. Labisa is a filly who comes here in good form; her recent second at Wolverhampton reads well and she cannot be overlooked. Course and distance winners Resplendent Nova and Suhayl Star should both appreciate a return to seven furlongs here at Lingfield, however with little confidence it is Silver Guest who is nominated.
