David Myerscough looks to have found a good opportunity for NORSE WARRIOR to get his nose in front, while Luisa Tetrazzini and Rocket Ruby are also short-listed. The selection takes a marked drop in trip from contesting races at mainly 7f and a mile, but pedigree suggests that he shouldn't be too far off the mark here. He is well drawn in stall number two and the first-time visor can sharpen him up enough to show his true potential with a win. Luisa Tetrazzini is another taking a marked drop in distance and she is proven on this circuit with a place in the frame last time. She is less likely to act over the minimum trip than the selection and so is opposed. Rocket Ruby is well used to racing over this trip and despite being a maiden from 15 starts, she has run well from a mark of 54 in turf handicaps during the summer and she should be better for her first run back after a break, here earlier in the week, so she can get heavily involved. Across The Sands showed enough in a course and distance handicap last time to suggest that he can make his presence felt, while Shirley High also has place claims, but the win can go to Norse Warrior.
