Verdict
RAVI RIVER is narrowly preferred here to Northern Desert, Polmaily and Hatman Jack. Jim Boyle's five-year-old is well-treated at these weights and he deserves his current rating of 80. He is now back with the yard after a successful spell with Tom Dascombe (same ownership) and this looks the easiest opportunity that he has had since winning at Kempton in February. The main danger could be Northern Desert, Sean Curran's ten-year-old. He has been in fine form so far this year with two wins and a second from five starts and he is expected to run into a place once again. Fun In The Sun was a winner over this course and distance in February but recent runs have highlighted the task he faces today (officially rated 57 but racing off level weights with Ravi River, rated 80). Wicksy Creek and Taste Of Honey should appreciate a return to Lingfield where they have both run well in the past, whilst Hatman Jack drops in trip and grade in the hope of eliciting some much needed improvement. This could be a fairly straight-forward task for Ravi River to resume winning ways.
