ANY GIVEN DAY is taken to win again after his hurdles debut at Kelso at the expense of Emerald Wilderness and Urban Tiger. The selection was rated as high as 81 on the flat winning four times from eleven runs when trained by David Simcock. He won nicely on his first start over hurdles making smooth headway to lead at the last and was driven out to win well. He does have a penalty to carry but looks more than good enough to follow up. Emerald Wilderness will pose as the biggest danger as he is rated 98 on the level and was thought good enough to run in a Group 3 race at Newmarket on his last flat outing. He caught the eye on his hurdles debut at Huntingdon finishing second to Moment Present and was sent off a short priced favourite that day but is sure to improve for the experience so any market moves should be noted. Urban Tiger has his first run for in-form trainer Tim Vaughan after he was good enough to win twice on the level and scored over fences last summer when trained by Carl Llewellyn. Now sent back over hurdles he has to warrant respect coming from a yard sending out plenty of winners. This looks very much a three horse race with Any Given Day given the preference.
