tracked leaders, keen and hung left, effort over 2f out, soon one pace
slowly into stride, always outpaced
chased leaders, outpaced over 1f out
went left start, with winner, ridden halfway, one pace final furlong
This looks to be a good opportunity for Harry Up to get off the mark after showing a good level of progression in his two starts to date. With Danifah just preferred over Borzoi Maestro to chase him home. The James Given-trained colt was slowly into his stride on his debut at Nottingham at the start of April, but quickly made up ground to finish third behind Cop Hill Lad, who subsequently gave the form a solid boost when winning a conditions event at Pontefract last month. Harry Up showed that he had learnt greatly from the experience and found only the Royal Ascot-bound Milk It Mick three-quarters of a length too good at Beverley in his next outing. He faces nothing of the potential of that rival here and is a confident selection to get things off to a good start for favourite backers. Danifah is the most exposed runner in the field and is closely matched with Borzoi Maestro on their meeting at Windsor. However, she has the weights in her favour today and should uphold the form. Newcomer Brother Cadfel would not have to be anything special to take a hand for the forecast slot.
