In depth

Verdict

A really trappy contest with hitherto modest performers, albeit from some quality yards, in opposition. Aphrodite Spirit was beaten in selling grade last time whilst Rainford Glory has performed on three different all-weather tracks the last three times in search of victory and has come up short each time. The visit to Lingfield makes it a fourth different track in four starts and the Simcock inmate is starting to look exposed. Train Hard did make the frame last time but was well beaten in a Wolverhampton maiden behind Teebee's Oasis, although even that level should be enough for him to have a decent chance here as he's the only contender to have run over today's trip. Nevertheless, the choice falls upon HANDIWORK for the Michael Bell team. He posted three mid-division finishes in juvenile maidens last term over a mile and should certainly be suited by this major step-up in trip. The son of Motivator has always looked more of a three-year-old and is a hopeful choice.
