QUEEN OF THEBES is put forwards with Vamos and Kuanyao as alternatives. Admittedly she has a little bit to prove at present as she has struggled for form this season but that has seen her mark drop considerably. She's returning to action after a short lay-off at a course where the trainer does well and it may prove to be significant that Ryan Moore rides for the first time. Kuanyao has done well since being sent handicapping although he spoilt his chance with a slow start and didn't appear to put it all in at Yarmouth; he may be worth another chance and may benefit from an artificial surface with his previous run here being inconclusive. Vamos has proved frustrating and was well held behind Peter Makin's gelding in July. He certainly has claims on the form of his latest effort but the blinkers, which had little effect on his penultimate start, are back in place. Flamsteed has ability but has proved difficult to win with although it's entirely possible that he may pop up one of these days, Super Fourteen is better than he showed last time whilst Temperence Hall and Quick Single are worth a mention but preference is for Queen Of Thebes.
