In depth

Verdict

A tight maiden in which four have similar claims. Hepplewhite must find a maiden sooner or later after five successive seconds and a first-time visor may do the trick for the Eddery charge whilst Skeaping does not always appear the most enthusiastic this term after a juvenile campaign replete with promise. Connections would have expected a win by now. Invocation has done nothing wrong in three runs on synthetic surfaces but this looks his biggest challenge to date and therefore TALENT TO AMUSE is taken to beat three more experienced rivals. Sent off a 25/1 shot in a Newmarket maiden last month, she outran her odds with an excellent performance, beaten just a short head by William Haggas's Daphne. Clearly on the improve, she can make further strides and gain that all-important success for paddocks value.
