Verdict

Lowly stakes for a lowly contest is the recommendation as it's impossible to be dogmatic about any of these. Masqueraded landed a claimer and a seller on artificial surfaces during the winter months but has to concede 8lb all round on the back of two disappointing runs, latterly in selling company. Nutbourne Lad is another whose recent efforts do not match earlier promise although it is noteworthy that the Perrett team reach for first-time headgear. It's tempting to go along with him but DALAVAND is the one who might just be able to progress from efforts to date as he didn't run at all badly here last time, just his fourth start, when fifth of 12 on his handicap bow and coming home quite nicely. Jamie Osborne steps him up significantly in trip and he is a hopeful choice to make his first venture onto turf a winning one.
