In depth

Verdict

HALSION CHANCER can take this race granted a decent tempo; Secret Witness and Orpsie Boy may give most to worry about. The selection has an excellent course record and he won't mind the drop back to six furlongs today. He is best coming off a decent gallop but if he gets the race run to suit then he can take top honours. Orpsie Boy is more interesting now dropped back in trip and with JP Guillambert booked for the ride, whilst Peak District is a good horse but he has stamina reservations over this distance. Beat The Bell needs a market check after a break, Lucky Redback is classy but he has not been seen for almost 500 days, whilst Secret Witness looks a more feasible danger. Ron Harris has his runners in good form and this consistent son of Pivotal should give his running although he too is another who will benefit from a decent pace to chase. An interesting handicap, and the vote is given to course specialist Halsion Chancer.
