The revised terms swing the balance of favour towards Balerno, who can represent good value today. Seacam is an obvious danger and is viable alternative, while Plausabelle is in good form and should also be thereabouts. Claims can also be made for Jomus and Diamond Max if they find their racing shoes today. But, like many of the rest, they have been tricky horses to assess in the past and others make more appeal on balance. Therefore, Balerno makes the most appeal for punting purposes this afternoon. Roger Ingram's charge got absolutely no sort of run when sent off as a warm favourite here nine days ago and that run is best forgotten. It will help to build his price if many of his supporters are still licking their wounds, so a watching brief on the market is advised before getting heavily involved. However, Jimmy Quinn is unlikely to make the same mistake, as to sit and suffer on the rail this time, and it could well be a different outcome for his faithful if he makes more use of Balerno at an early stage this afternoon.
