Esculenta was headed close home by Alizarene at Punchestown with West Coast around three lengths behind. The latter didn’t get the clearest of runs BUT Johnny Murtagh’s filly should confirm the form, though the one to take from the race is PERFECT THUNDER. She started favourite and looked the likely winner when going clear in the straight but ran green and was headed a furlong out. The winner’s yard is represented by Sierra Nevada, a half-sister to six winners including two Group 1 winners. Georgeta is a half-sister to four winners while Zasha is related to a couple of winners though is likely to need further.
